According to the press release that came attached to the song I'm writing about today Cherokee Red have been together since 2011, so I suppose the release of "Vaya Con Dios" is a long time coming. It's the first track taken from their forthcoming self-titled debut album which follows next month and if this one track is anything to go by, it's going to be one the carefree albums of the summer...
Amongst Spector group backing harmonies and whispered dual vocals is this beautiful, crystal clear melody full of understated, woozy bliss. "Vaya Con Dios" is brightly bitter-sweet and hides intimate lyrics amongst its inventively catchy tune, combining the like of Fleetwood Mac with more recent dream pop landscapes, Cherokee Red are here to steal your heart.
