The Hundredth Anniversary #4 - 34

Facebookthehundredthanniversary.com

A band I've continued to follow since the start don't disappoint again as The Hundredth Anniversary make it four out of four with the b-side to their debut 7" single The Jump - released this week via Tiny Lights with the remaining copies available via bandcamp.

"34" continues the Brighton quartets' dramatic, distinctive direction as its melody simmers on the edge with brooding, stirring menace before exploding half-way through with the perfect marriage of shimmering guitar, rigorous percussion and the beautiful, ethereal vocals of Eleanor Rudge. Perhaps with more atmospheric, darkly undertones than we've heard from the band before, however you want to describe it, "34" is a bloody great way to spend your next three minutes.
