F.U.R.S. #3 - Just Kids

Facebookfursband.co.uk

Summers here and with it comes a general feel good factor (in me at least) that makes you reach for music perhaps a little more joyous and optimistic than the usual songs of the impending apocalypse, probably because instead of being in your dark bedroom you've moved to the garden and are pretending to your friends and neighbours that you're always this happy and love to eat charcoaled meat of disputable origin four times a week...

F.U.R.S are here to make that actually okay though, their glorious new 80's retro pop single "Just Kids", a track that you'll want to listen to over and over as the sun shines down on you with a bristling mix of bright, dreamy pop hooks and cinematic soundscapes that recall the nostalgia of youth - yeah, that last bit is pretty obvious from the title. "Just Kids" is playful, enjoyable and you know, fun, like they used to make them before as my Granddad would say. Elle's vocals are heavenly throughout as undulating waves of throbbing bass and glimmerings synths recall Summer Camps' debut, that's definitely a good thing, give me more already.

"Just Kids" will be released on 7" vinyl on August 19th via Loose Lips Records backed by the previously heard (and similarly excellent) "Striptease". The band have some live dates to celebrate to - check them out here.

F.U.R.S #2 - Striptease

Facebookfursband.com

F.U.R.S caused a mini-stir in the blogging community last year with their debut track the gorgeous "Modern Lovers", introducing a bright, effortlessly charming sound full of 60's psyche-pop nostalgia and perfect pop hooks.

The now expanded trio haven't strayed too far from that formula on their official debut single "Striptease" (released March 25th on Loose Lips Records), a fresh of breath air with infectious jangle rhythms, slinky keys and sugar-sweet vocals, "Striptease" is vibrant, fun and instantly pleasing. F.U.R.S. look set to win yet more admirers (this before a March tour in support of Johnny Marr - dates). Listen below:

F.U.R.S. - New Music "Introducing"

Facebookfursband.com/

Here's a band I had recommened to me last week and when I finally got around to listening to them late one last night I wondered why it had taken me so long to follow up on the tip (long enough to miss a few gigs the band have played in town this week). London brother and sister duo Elle and Liam Wade have (to date) just the one track online but on it F.U.R.S take a care-free, lovestruck approach to creating a warm, reverb-soaked nostalgic-pop sound that is sure to earn them increasing number of admirers .

The Track "Modern Lovers" is effortlessly charming from the first listen, soaked in bright, good-time memories from twinkling xylophone and jangling guitar with sweet, perfect for summer melody is a sure fire mood raiser with Elle's sweet vocals equally endearing, as an introduction "Modern Lovers" is gorgeously infectious and more than anything lush.

Luckily for fellow late-comers, the band have more shows already lined up in the Capital at the end of the month (they only played their first dates in August), with more, no doubt, to follow - dates.
