I don't think anyone has heard much from Beth Jeans Houghton since 2009, the radio silence ending this week with news of a signing to Mute and a new free download of new track, the rather spell checker inducing "Dodecahedron" (me neither - Google tells me it's something to do with geometry and I'm not one to argue).
The song is great, Beth has this quirky unique voice that is offset perfectly with a male baritone backing. Pretty, cinematic chamber folk-pop with sweeping strings and twinkling xylophone, it's pretty lush.
Her debut album is due in Autumn and is certinaly one to look for.
