The last time I mentioned Sharon Van Etten in January it was to tell you about an exceptionally good recording up on NYCTaper, well fast forward four months and it's déjà vu - This recording is from her April show at local New York venue, Music Hall of Williamsburg. It's bloody brilliant too and some eighty minutes long. Go and grab it now from nyctaper.
So far my live Sharon experience has been left to these recordings and I'm ever so grateful for artists for allowing them to be shared and for nyctaper for doing such a brilliant job, there are millions more fantastic recordings, go and knock yourself out. Hopefully her next London show won't clash with The Joy Formidable and I'll be there!
If that wasn't enough, her is a new track "Like A Diamond" a cover of a track by Glass Ghost (I'm not currently familiar with it), Sharon's track is a gentle and dreamy one with simmering keys and precise percussion behind her:
