Broken Twin (aka Copenhagen's Majke Voss Romme) stunned me earlier this year with her affecting debut EP Hold On To Nothing, full of heartbreaking intimacy and a stark beauty that weaved a potent spell of genuine emotion.
Now signed to the label ANTI- Broken Twin returns with new track "Sun Has Gone" ahead of a debut full-length next year. The track's title gives newcomers to the Broken Twin sound as darkly indication as possible as what to expect, introspection and devastation through tender piano chords and Majke's arresting voice, "Sun Has Gone" tugs at your heart with a haunting, uncluttered sound and will stay there long after its finished.
I had to leave End of the Road before Broken Twin's set and I'm looking forward to making amends when Majke plays London's Servants Jazz Quarters on December 5th - details. "Sun Has Gone" is released on 7" on November 18th - pre-order.
