We're half-way through November already and traditionally it's not going to be too long before the first 'tips for 2014' posts start cropping up, one act I'm featuring here for the fourth time this year and should definitely be on the short-list for such features is Brighton's Dog In The Snow...
"Africa" (a track I've previously covered back on my Introducing post in January) has been given a new lease in the form of a slow-burning live video recorded earlier in the year. The performance is so perfect and polished here you could easily be fooled into believing it was a studio release aside from the clapping that book-ends the track and the odd bit of feedback. The track, of course, is outstanding, combining the otherworldly essence and mystery of a Planningtorock with a melody and rhythmic groove you'd expect from Foals and then adding Helen's ethereal, softening vocals. The result is as captivating as it sounds.
