Out of the ashes of the sadly defunct Keebo (whom swept around blogs last summer with the wonderful "Native American" - a tape of which was released on my Beautiful Strange label) comes FRED, consisting of three of the former band Amy, Rhapsody and Sophie.
Fred announced their arrival late last week with a debut track "Cinnamon", a track that fans of old sound are sure to appreciate but switches the upbeat, Real Estate jangle of old for something altogether more understated, intricate layers of guitars shimmer amongst harmonic perfection in a track which is never in any hurry, instead it slowly wraps around you with a warming beauty and leaves you longing for more.
Fred play their debut show on January 31st (details).
