Illyin Pipes - New Music "Introducing"

Facebook / illyinpipes.com

Delving into my inbox for a couple of lovely introducing posts now, firstly Toronto's Illyin Pipes, a quartet who've released two songs to date and are led by Jill Harris, Illyin Pipe sees her progressing from an early folk sound to more ambient, textured soundscapes adding to her luscious tones.

"Grasshopper" was the first songs released by the band last December, a track which instantly soothes with its smooth, languid melody of layered electronics and subtle percussion blending perfectly around Jill's cool vocals but it's the perfectly titled "Cold Season", a track which followed last week, that has me swooning all over...

A perfect tapestry of intoxicating harmonies and ethereal bliss sees theme switching from green grass and nature to the more intimate and familiar of relationship breakdown, the result is a beautiful, hazy dream which makes me wish for me.

Both tracks can be downloaded on a pay-what-you-like basis via Bandcamp now.
